The can is made of the material of the can lid itself, processed into rivets, and then riveted tightly by the pull ring on the outer cover, and matched with the corresponding notches to form a complete can lid. It has the characteristics of light weight, small size, not easy to break, and easy to carry. There are two kinds of materials for cans: aluminum and tinplate.

The manufacture of the lid:

blanking → basic cover stamping forming → original edge → glue injection → foaming → marking → riveting → arch pressing (soda cap) → forming process of storage tank cap.

blanking:

In the stretching process, the material at the edge of the blank forms a cup shape in the radial direction, so the unit body in the plastic flow zone is in a three-dimensional stress state of two-way compression and one-way stretching. Due to the effect of the punching arc and the die arc, the wall thickness of the lower part of the cup body is reduced by about 10%, and the cup mouth is thickened by about 25%. The arc size of the cup angle has a great influence on the subsequent process (can forming). If the control is not good, it is easy to break the tank. Therefore, the following factors must be considered in the blanking and drawing process: cup diameter and drawing ratio, punch arc, drawing die arc, punch and die gap, aluminum mechanical properties, mold surface Friction performance, lubrication of material surface, drawing speed, lug rate, etc.

Can body manufacturing-aluminum can body processing:

Tank molding:

In the deep drawing process, the metal concentrated in the tapered part of the die is the deformation zone, and the force transmission zone is the cylinder wall and the bottom of the shell after passing through the mold. In the deformation zone, the material is in a three-dimensional stress state of axial tension, tangential compression and radial compression. Under the action of three-dimensional stress, the grains of the metal are refined and the strength increases, accompanied by work hardening. In the force transmission area, different parts of the material have different forces. Among them, the metal in the rounded area of the punch is the worst, axially and tangentially, and radially compressed, so the material has a serious tendency to become thinner, and the metal is easily broken. , Resulting in tensile failure. By comparing the stress state of the metal in the deformation zone and the force transmission zone, it can be seen that whether the thinning and deep drawing process can proceed smoothly depends on the tensile stress of the metal at the corner of the drawing punch. When the tensile stress exceeds the material strength limit, it will cause fracture, otherwise the drawing process cannot proceed smoothly. Therefore, reducing the tensile stress during the stretching process becomes the key to ensuring the smooth progress of the stretching.

In the process, blanking, stretching, can body forming, trimming, diameter reduction, rotary reduction diameter/flanging processes require mold processing, among which blanking, stretching, can body forming processes and molds are the key, and the process The level and mold design and manufacturing level directly affect the quality and production cost of the tank.

Metal cans are what we often call cans. The lid and body are produced separately and then assembled together. There are two kinds of materials for making cans: aluminum and tinplate.
